We’re Now 100% Online — Same Expert Care, More Convenience
About Voice Therapy is excited to share that all voice and speech therapy services are now offered online. This allows greater flexibility, accessibility, and comfort — so you can receive high-quality, individualized therapy from wherever you are. If you have questions about teletherapy or whether it’s right for you or your child, please reach out. We're happy to help!

Our Guiding Framework
About Voice follows the World Health Organization’s International Classification of Functioning (ICF) model, which looks at the whole person, not just the speech or voice difference. We focus on building skills and supporting meaningful participation in everyday life — at home, school, work, and in the community. Caregivers, environment, identity, and personal goals are an important part of the process, so therapy always reflects the person — not just the diagnosis.

About the owner.

Every voice — whether spoken or sung — is precious and deserves to be heard. When communication becomes difficult, it can affect confidence, connection, and daily life.

Ami Bouterse (she/her), M.S., M.M., CCC-SLP, owner of About Voice, provides online speech and voice therapy for adults and children using a compassionate, evidence-based approach that honors each person’s unique communication needs. She strives to create a safe, supportive environment where clients of all ages feel heard and valued.

Ami has experience working with voice challenges, speech sound disorders, language development, and fluency. She partners closely with families and individuals to support meaningful progress. Her background in professional voice performance and pedagogy also allows her to serve as a singing-voice specialist within her work as a speech-language pathologist.

She holds a Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Emerson College and voice performance degrees from Carnegie Mellon University (M.M.) and the University of Wisconsin–Madison (B.M.), along with a Library and Information Science Certification from UW–Madison.

Outside of her work, Ami enjoys time with her husband, two children, and two dogs — along with board games and movie nights.
